The heart of the mixing and IVC®-factory is the mixing department where all raw materials are collected and mixed.
The bales of straw arrive at the mixing line one by one. After the rope which keeps the bale of straw together has been cut, the straw is ruffled up. The straw is lightly sprayed with water in order to prevent the formation of dust. After this the straw disappears into a basin containing manure water, enriched with fertilizers, also called percolate. Within a few minutes the straw is saturated and finds its way further to the mixer.
In the mixer the mixture of horse manure/gypsum arrives. The large mixing unit mixes and doses the wet straw and the horse manure while adding slurry, percolate and ammonium sulphate (residue from the ammonia washer) according to a carefully composed prescription. The result is a mixture of raw materials which is transported along the attic to the IVC®-factory.
