Casing soil

logo-rhp_000.gif

Casing soil is produced in Milsbeek and has the RHP quality mark. The basic raw materials are peat, betacal-filter (spent lime) and marl. If desired, the casing soil can be treated with 0.5 litres per m³ formalin (in winter 0.25 litrer/m³).

Qualities

  • The qualities in the basic mix have the following increasing moisture contents: standard, standard plus, wet, wet plus, extra wet, extra wet plus. The basic mix is suitable for both picking and cutting companies.
  • The mix for cutting companies is obtainable in the same gradations of moisture content. The relation fresh peat/turf has been adjusted. This casing soil is more crumbly and can be applied more subtly.
  • Marl mix also has the same gradations of moisture content and is better suitable for cutters, due to the finer structure. Because marl mix only contains marl as chalk addition, it is easier to spray to the right level of moisture and thus results in a better cutting performance.
  •  Extremely rough casing soil has the same gradations of moisture content. The fresh peat is added in a different proportion. This makes the structure of the casing soil rougher and heavier and it is better suitable for pickers.

An adjusted mixture can be produced on demand.

Delivery:

  • Casing soil can be delivered on every day of the week.
  • The delivered casing soil has been disinfected formalin. Deliveries without formalin (for instance for ECO-growing) are also possible.
  • Casing soil can be unloaded in various ways

Unloading of casing soil

The casing soil can be unloaded in bulk. The grower puts the casing soil into the GVA-machine himself. CNC can also unload the casing soil in doses. By means of a machine at the back of the truck the casing soil can be unloaded in doses into the GVA-machine.
