Cultivation of mushroom

At the moment, there are approximately 230 mushroom growers in the Netherlands, most of them south of the major rivers.

A mushroom farm is recognisable as a relatively low building with a number of large doors in a row. Behind those doors there are oblong, dark spaces. In these mushroom cells there are two rows of tiered racks which contain five or six mushroom beds on top of each other.
